How To Wear Monochromatic Colors Without Looking Boring

The older I get, the more I like to invest in simple, versatile pieces that can be styled numerous ways. The same goes for colors. Blacks, whites and gray will always be my favorite due to their practicality.

Even though incorporating vivid hues is a fun way to brighten up your wardrobe, every now and then I like to go all out with my basic, monochromatic colors. Your initial thought might be: booooooring, but I think that it doesn’t have to be! If you pair your total look with bold accessories, like this metallic jacket or a statement necklace, I can guarantee you won’t feel plain and simple.

What color would you choose for your monochromatic look?

When I got this maxi skirt from Shein (under $25!), I tried a bunch of tops with it until I found the one I liked the most. I got lucky since my bodysuit is pretty much the same color as the skirt! Paired together, they both create an illusion of wearing a dress vs. a two-piece set.
