In partnership with J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines
Life has been nonstop ever since we announced our engagement, so the moments when we can sit down with friends over a great wine and dinner are that much more appreciated these days. To celebrate the new chapter and prepare myself for my new role as a wife, I decided to invite a good friend of mine over for a delicious dinner.
The main star of entertaining was our wine selection, J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay, which also happened to dictate the course of our dinner. Since it turned out to be a huge hit, I decided to share with you what made it so special! If you’re a fan of fresh, vibrant white wines, keep reading for perfect food pairings that go with it!
One of my favorite ways to entertain is to have friends over who enjoy cooking, so you can prepare the meal together! Just pop a bottle of a delicious Chardonnay that’s good for any day to combine pleasure with work. 😉 Trust me, the time you spend in the kitchen together will be a perfect opportunity to catch up, learn something new and have fun!
If you’re looking for an easy and quick dinner + light bites to prepare, I recommend making this three herb chicken and mushrooms + peach & goat cheese crostini. Both of these dishes paired beautifully with our J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay, because they complemented its bright acidity and creamy texture. Think flavors of white peach, floral, citrus, baking spices and honey and you’re there.

Salmon in a creamy Dijon sauce or a niçoise salad with a citrus vinaigrette.
We had so much fun cooking this dinner together, I plan to make it a weekly activity in our household! After all, there’s nothing better than sharing a good bottle of wine with friends over an amazing meal, am I right? 🙂
What’s your favorite dish to pair with a Chardonnay for any day?
YUM!!!
I can’t wait to make these dishes again! They paired so well with the wine!
I’m dying to try this recipe! I couldn’t agree more, an intimate dinner with friends is a great chance to catch up! That crostini sounds TO DIE FOR!! I’m a fan of chicken salads with Chardonnay, all though I recently tried a unfiltered chars that I ended up pairing with scallops in a citrus garlic shallot glaze!
Hi! You make all of this look so amazing I am going to HAVE to try it myself. I looked up the three herb mushroom recipe and plan on trying it this weekend. In order to make it perfect I will have to go out and find the Chardonnay to go with it!! Do you know if Lohr sells on the east coast?
Oh my gosh, you’re so cute! Love these pics, and that food looks seriously AMAZE.
