What Makes You Feel Beautiful and Confident in Your Skin?

What makes your feel beautiful? I’m asking this today because we women tend to put a lot of pressure these days on how we look… In all honesty, sometimes it makes me miss those days when makeup was limited and there were no crazy tutorials on how to transform your face into somebody completely different. To each its own, I guess. I certainly am not trying to take away from the fact that good makeup can boost up woman’s confidence. I just wish my younger sister (she’s 12 now) got to grow up in the world where the emphasis wasn’t put as much on how well you canΒ paint your face. Thoughts?

So yes, in today’s post I’m wearing no makeup but it’s not just to make a point. That’s actually how I look like 90% of the time (perks of working from home, I suppose). While I love to get all glammed up every now and then, I truly find beauty in simplicity. Some people will call it being lazy, I call it being smart. You know all that talk about the beauty products that will keep you looking young? They’re great, but how about just letting your face breathe a little? Skip a heavy foundation and go for a tinted moisturizer instead (I love this one).

Fun fact: For pretty much 99% of my photos I wear the same makeup and only use a tinted moisturizer/ BB Cream.

Funny thing, I didn’t even come on here to talk about the makeup. Rant over! So what does make me feel beautiful and confident in my skin? Well, I hope today’s photos speak for themselves. πŸ˜‰

Just like any other woman, I have my share of insecurities. Believe me when I say shooting photos in a lingerie is not the most comfortable thing I’ve done photography wise. Did I edit out a roll of fat on my stomach? YES. It was nothing major but enough to make me go ugh (just ask Kayla, my photographer :P). #nobodysperfect

BRALETTE

OK, it’s time to actually discuss the pieces I’m wearing that make me feel beautiful and confident (top to bottom). THIS BRALETTE. I’m not lying when I say that once I discovered barrettes, I never looked back. There’s something so sexy yet casual about them. I swear I feel more natural and confident wearing lingerie that doesn’t have any wires poking my skin. Makes sense?

This bralette from LIVELY has been generously sent to me a few weeks ago and it’s been love at first sight. For the past few years I used to wear one in black from H&M and now I’m happy I got something in a neutral color. It’s so soft and comfortable yet provides enough support to shape your beauties the right way! A MUST HAVE, in my humble opinion.

JEANS

A good pair of jeans can do wonders to a woman’s body, am I right? I feel like for the longest time I’ve been wearing skinny jeans because they perfectly accentuated my petite figure. Recently, I wanted to try something new. I always loved seeing women rocking a good pair of mom jeans, I just thought they could never work on me. Huge mistake! Once you find the right fit, you’re golden. Thank you American Eagle for pointing me in the right direction. You can buy these high-waisted jeans here – now on sale for just $30!

This is such a lovely read dear, and I couldnt agree more, especially on “beauty in simplicity”. While I like to look at my best in my blog posts, most of the time I wear simple and way less makeup.
